STUDYDRIVE
2023
Studydrive is an e-learning platform dedicated to university students in Europe, we not only help provide study material, but we also connect different communities and help them find career opportunities.
Being dedicated to a young adult audience, we noticed that nowadays there is a rapid and constant change in trends, forcing us to maintain an updated knowledge of our users, which is why not only the platform must evolve in its features, but also in how it is presented visually.
Empathising: Understanding the needs and perception of students towards trends.
Sketching: Discovering and defining a visual style that is appealing to students
Wireframes: Create the first wireframes and test them on current users of Studydrive.
Launch: After launch, we kept contact with real users to know the performance of the new website.
By the time I was working on this project during 2023, we noticed that one of the trends that our users were most interested in was Y2K fashion. What is Y2K? It's more than a fashion trend, it's a celebration of the daring, futuristic, and sometimes quirky style that defined the early 2000s. Inspired by the promise of a new millennium, it's packed with metallics, playful accessories, and techy details that feel forward-thinking but with a retro charm, but why this trend came back? We asked our users and these were the answers:
Nostalgia
Resurgence
Creativity
Sustainability
After our user interviews and research about the Y2K aesthetic, it was time to gather inspiration through mood boards and everything we can find online.

Considering that this project had to be carried out in a limited period of time, the results were overwhelmingly positive, not only in the number of current accounts activated, but also in the image perception of users. Out of our current client base, 35+% of them activated their new Current Account within the first month since launch,
